Finished in black leather on a polished aluminium frame, and retaining its original hard industrial castors — an uncommon surviving detail. Condition: Like new — excellent vintage condition with gentle signs of wear to the polished aluminium frame and upholstery, consistent with age and use.

The Eames Aluminum Group — a modern classic
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958, the Aluminum Group began not as office furniture but as elegant seating for a private home commissioned by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard. The Eameses suspended a single panel of fabric or leather between two slim aluminium ribs, creating a seat that contours to the body without any visible padding or frame.
More than sixty years on, it remains one of the most recognisable chairs ever made and is still produced by Herman Miller today. Equally suited to the executive office, the boardroom and the home study, the Aluminum Group is that rare thing: a genuine piece of design history that is also a thoroughly comfortable place to work.
